Soaring Hearts--Snippets and Inspiration

Soaring Hearts Snippet:

They rushed to the concert area and got there as the performance started. They found an open spot on the grass, and Alex slipped his backpack off and unzipped a compartment. He handed the backpack to Jeff as he pulled out a vibrant, rainbow-colored Mexican style blanket.

“Wow, a boy scout,” Jeff teased as Alex spread the blanket out on the grass.

“Nope, just been to tons of concerts here. One of the perks of the job.” Alex smiled at him.

Support Aids/LifeCycle

One of my friends from High School will be riding in the AIDS/Life Cycle Event that happens every year in June.  Brennan met his goal of $5,000 in sponsors, but his husband Tracy Pitts is dragging behind a little bit.

If you feel the love and want to donate a little, anything from a dollar on up, please check out their personal pages:

Soaring Hearts--Snippets and Inspiration

Soaring Hearts Snippet:

People blanketed the field as they all waited to see the mass ascension. The green of the grass became invisible under the sea of blue, brown, and red patches as the crowds wandered about. Safely off the field, Jeff sat in one of the chairs, poured the coffee into his cup. People were scurrying around the billowing fabric like ants. The colors of their jackets muted by the vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds seen on so many of the balloons. The phewooo sound of the propane burners drowned out the sounds of thousands of people talking as the giant pillows of nylon in every imaginable color and pattern inflated.

Soaring Hearts--Snippets and Inspiration

Soaring Hearts Snippet:

As he folded up the tarps, Jeff still missed Alex. He’d barely been aware of the sunrise the rest of the crew claimed to be the most beautiful so far. He had just gone through the motions of helping Cindy and Danny while his mind conjured up images of Alex’s smiling face.
